I purchased the BBhugme pillow after seeing the rave reviews on Reddit. I was beginning to have lower back pain during sleep at the start of my second trimester. While this pillow definitely relieves discomfort and can be used during and after pregnancy, I firmly believe that if the pillow costs as much as it does, there needs to be some major improvements to its construction in order for quality control to be better.
The travel bag it came with is poor quality and the zipper broke after using it once when I took the pillow to use while staying two nights out of town.
The cover is so difficult to get on and off and the rubber adjusters are not easy to slide. It’s “Wrestmania” everytime I need to wash the cover or make the pillow firmer.
I am only 5’2 and this pillow is short! The cover is currently off the pillow and it’s measuring at 56 inches. However at this length, the pillow feels very deflated and not supportive. When made firmer by compressing the pillow together to allow for adequate support, the length only measures about 45 inches. I don’t see how this would work for taller people as it barely accommodates a short person like myself.
Furthermore, the material: there needs to be more stuffing in the pillow to account for the beads breaking down. I’ve only used this pillow for about 6 weeks and it’s just not as firm as when it was brand new which indicates to me that the beads break down very quickly and are cheap. I would not expect this to happen given the price.
I bought this pillow hoping I could use it for multiple functions. I am only 20 weeks and based on my experience so far, I don’t foresee this pillow lasting me til the end of my pregnancy, postpartum, or for future pregnancy. I am really disappointed with this, maybe I received a defective pillow? I would probably not buy again or recommend to others.
